Double post split rail fence is also a traditional fencing method used by the early farmers to contain stock and is still very functional for that purpose today. Double post rails are rectangular in shape and 4″x5″-6″ in size we stack them on edge to achieve the most height, between two split cedar posts, that average 6″-7″ per side in a slightly wedge shape profile. There is three different stacking styles to choose from the alternating one up one down, the shingled, and the inline style, this method uses split boards between the posts to support the rails in line along the length of the fence.
The double post fence is our most popular fence style and is really a beautiful addition to any landscape. It takes less space than the snake style and so is good to define the sides of driveways while the snake fence shows off the front of your lot.
